LENZ electric vehicle charging stations and charging adapters are designed, engineered in the USA and manufactured in China. Though many EV chargers and adapters may look alike, LENZ differs in that we manage the entire manufacturing process to ensure the highest-quality standards.

Shipping
Unfortunately, at this time, we only ship LENZ products to within the contiguous USA, Alaska, and Hawaii.
For orders of $30 or more, shipping is free to addresses within the contiguous USA. Orders below $30, shipping is a flat fee of $5.99. And, for orders shipping to Alaska or Hawaii, there is a flat $15.99 shipping fee. For heavy/bulky shipments (e.g. LENZ Level 2 Charger), there is an additional surcharge for shipping to Alaska or Hawaii. J1772 to Tesla Adapter
This adapter is ONLY compatible with Tesla vehicles: Models 3, Y, S, and X. This adpater is NOT compatible with non-Tesla vehicles.
Debris in ports can lead to overheating, a common industry issue affecting all manufacturers, including Tesla. Regularly inspect your plug and charger ports for cleanliness/integrity. If problem persists, discontinue use and contact LENZ Support.
- Confirm adapter is fully inserted to charging port. Verify the J1772 connector is fully inserted into charging port.
- Confirm EVSE (charging station) is functioning - poorly maintained and broken public chargers is a common problem. Contact support for the charging station operator or try a another charging station.
- Verify Tesla is not performing software update. DO NOT use if ports are damaged.

NO. This adapter is designed exclusively for AC charging (Level 1 and Level 2 charging). It is NOT compatible with any DC charging station. Attempting to use it with a DC charging station can result in a fire, resulting in personal injury and/or property damage.
NO. This adapter is designed specifically for Tesla vehicles. The LENZ J1772 to Tesla Adapter allows Tesla vehicles to connect to public SAE J1772 standard charging stations (non-Tesla charging stations) and to home chargers with J1772 charging port.
To connect your non-Tesla vehicle to Tesla Destination Chargers, Tesla Home Wall Chargers, and Tesla Mobile Connectors, please consider LENZ NACS to J1772 Adapter.
- Ensure the adapter and charging port are clearn before use (e.g. no debris, dirt, or moisture)
- Align the adapter carefully with the port and press firmly until it clicks
- To remove, ensure your Tesla is unocked and the charge port door is open
- Pull the adapter out directly, parallel to the port pins
NACS to J1772 Adapter
The LENZ NACS (North American Charging Standard) to J1772 Adapter is compatible with all non-Tesla EVs that come equipped with J1772 charging port. This adapter is NOT compatible with Tesla vehicles.
To connect your Tesla vehicle to Level 1 and/or Level 2 J1772 charging stations at home or at public charging stations such as EVgo, Chargepoint, ElectrifyAmerica, use LENZ J1772 to Tesla Charging Adapter.
NACS stands for North American Charging Standard. It is the charging standard used by all Tesla chargers, including Tesla Destination Charger, Tesla Home Chargers, Tesla Mobile Connectors. NOTE: The NACS to J1772 Adapter is NOT compatible with Tesla Supercharger.
NO, our NACS to J1772 Adapter is only compatible with Tesla Level 1 and Level 2 AC Chargers, such as: Tesla Destination Charger, Tesla Home Charger, and Tesla Mobile Connector.
- The adapter supports a maximum charging rate of 19.2 kW (80A at 240V)
- Charging speeds may vary depending on (a) The type and model of Tesla charger used, and (b) the specifications and battery capacity of the J1772 compatible EV
For optimal performance and lifespan, it is recommended to detach the adapter after each use. Storing the adapter detached from the charger prevents unnecessary wear and maintains the adapter's durability.
Yes, the NACS to J1772 Adatper is IP54 rated for weather resistance, which protects if from dust and splashes. However, the adapter is NOT waterproof. Do not submerge the adapter under water or clean the adapter with water.
NEMA Adapters
- Check power source
- Verify that the NEMA plug on the adapter matches the power outlet
- Verify that the NEMA plug is inserted completely into the power outlet. NOTE: Wall receptacles that are compliant to UL standards or not installed by a certified electrician may result in an incomplete connection.
- Ensure that your power receptacle is functioning and providing the required power
- Confirm proper connection
- Verify that the adapter is securely and completely connected to both Tesla's mobile connector and the NEMA outlet
- Operating outside of safe temperature limits
- LENZ NEMA adapters have a built-in thermal sensor. If ambient temperature exceeds safe limits (-22°F to 122°F)
LENZ NEMA Adapters are designed specifically for the Tesla Gen 2 Mobile Charger (aka Connector). LENZ NEMA Adapters are NOT compatible with the Tesla Gen 1 Mobile Charger. To choose the right NEMA Adapter, please verify your power outlet matches the NEMA type plug per guide below.
Maximum amperage varies by adapter type - refer to reference below. Please note that charging times will vary depending on voltage and current drawn from your power outlet. In addition, ambient temperature and your Tesla's battery condition or temperature can impact time of charge.

LENZ offers some NEMA Adapters for Tesla Gen 2 Mobile Connector in both the standard 10 inch length and an extended length, which can vary between 14 inches and 16 inches. This is strictly for convenience or to address practical need for additional reach. In most cases, please note that 16 inches is the maximum length allowed to maintain performance and safety certifications.
